Here are some things you should expect when making your move to Townsville.

Housing

Of course, you should secure housing first before moving somewhere. Whether you prefer to be at the city centre or the beachside, there is a neighbourhood that would suit you. For one, there is Mount Low to the north where you can be close to the beach enough to go for swims every weekend. Annandale, on the other hand, is a suburb at the inner part of the city that would suit outdoorsy people. Note that rental rates for Townsville apartments can be slightly higher than expected, but you will sure find one within your price range.

Arts and Culture

The arts and culture scene is thriving quite well in Townsville, and there are several places to enjoy live performances here. There is the Museum of Tropical Queensland that features various exhibits, events, and activities for everyone. The Townsville Civic Theatre, which is considered as the premier cultural venue of North Queensland, not only hosts a wide array of productions, but also houses a bar where you can enjoy drinks before or after shows.

Beaches

Part of what makes it worthwhile to live in Townsville would be the surrounding beaches. Three of the most popular beaches nearby are The Strand, Rowes Bay and Bushland Beach. However, make sure to check for crocodile warning signs before going for a swim.

These are just a few of the things you can expect when you move to Townsville. Once you have settled, you might find that there is a lot more to experience and appreciate in your new environment.
